Phantom was a ghastly performance
The singing was enunciated as far as voices are heard from the top three; however, the overall group performance was ghastly. The attempt at humor was horrendous and detracted from the romantic tragedy this play is about. The directing was mediocre, and the ensemble was only par. There was no intensity, no passion, and no chemistry in the acting. The performance did not bring me to tears, and I started wishing it was intermission. Trista Moldovan was the only joy to see and hear. On a positive note, the second half was slightly better than the first. I was not riveted to the edge of my seat nor was I horrified by the disfigurement or the anguish the UConn Huskies had endured. Once again, this performance did not live up to past performances.
